ANSWER: A keyboard controller equipped with "N-KEY-ROLLOVER" is able to evaluate several pressed keys at a time, i.e. even when several keys are actuated at the same time, all key codes are sent to the PC. Keyboards that allow combinations of several keys can be realised by wiring the crossing points of the array with decoupling diodes.
When two keys are pressed with "2-KEY-ROLLOVER", in contrast, the code of the second key is only enabled after releasing the first one.
